Founded in 2020 to bring rigour to a hyped market.
Arqmetrica was founded in 2020, before generative AI dominated boardroom conversations. The founding thesis was simple: European mid-market companies were about to face an avalanche of AI vendor pitches with no independent way to evaluate them. Years later, with the EU AI Act enforcement window approaching, that thesis has aged into the firm's reason for existing.
We publish the quarterly State of European Mid-Market AI, an open-data index of 1,367 firms across 12 EU member states. We do not resell AI tools and do not accept vendor commissions. Every recommendation maps to a published framework, the EU AI Act, the OECD AI Principles, the NIST AI Risk Management Framework, or ISO/IEC 42001. The discipline is the work, not the marketing.

Dr Jorge Campos is the founder and director of Arqmetrica. He holds a PhD in Management from the University of St Andrews, where his research focused on AI systems, privacy and data ethics, an MSc in Health Psychology from the University of Strathclyde (Distinction) focused on cognition, and an MSc in Consumer Analytics from the University of Leeds (Distinction). He was an Affiliate Scholar at New York University's Information Law Institute (2022–2024). He has presented at the Computers, Privacy and Data Protection conference in Brussels and at the Contextual Integrity Symposium at Cornell. He brings academic rigour and commercial leadership to every engagement.

Ten thousand new "AI consultants" appeared after ChatGPT. Most cannot defend a methodology, cannot quantify their advice with peer benchmarks, cannot map their work to the EU AI Act they will be asked about by every CFO this year. Arqmetrica was built differently. The Index is published. The methodology is auditable. The benchmarks are anchored in MIT Sloan/BCG research and continuously refined. We specialise in mid-market, the segment Big Four under-serve and tech-startup consultancies do not understand.
